Sketch

Over at Polkadoodles this fortnight we're using a sketch for inspiration.
Now I'm never sure how or where to go with a sketch. I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to thinking outside the box so goody two shoes Bev, stuck to the letter of the law and here's my interpretation.

I've used the fabulous Winston CD but thought I'd prove that you don't necessarily need to use a character to make a lovely card. I have a serious addiction to the printable flowers on this CD. I just keep copy, pasting, printing, shaping and gluing them they're just so lush!

Tatty Twinkles

I've been working on this little lady (Swinging Tatty) for a few days now as I've not had a lot of free time. I'm not sure if it's my dodgy eyesight or what ?but I'm not 100% happy with the photograph the card itself looks much more vibrant.

Anyway she's coloured up with my graph'its and at the end I tried to get a little more depth of colour with my pencils. I cut her out with a circle die, inking the edges and mounted her onto an embossed larger, scallopped, inked, die cut.

The backing paper is from Tatty Twinkles CD once again I inked the edges and mounted onto some cream card stock and added  some shiny gold ribbon from my crafty stash. I then added my topper to the centre. The sentiment and frame are all part of the same stamp set too. I finished my card off with some flowers which are all die cuts from the tattered lace range.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'd like to enter into the following challenges:

COYB!

By the time this post is published the celebrating will be over and there will probably be a sore head or two this morning!

Last night was the 50th birthday party of an 'old' (I can say that now as mine's six months away!) school friend and Ipswich Town supporter, Tracey Lewis. I wanted to use the club badge as the focal point of her card. So good old google came into play. I copied, pasted and printed several layers of the image and just cut out the bits I wished to decoupage up. To brighten up an otherwise flat image I used spray glue and rubbed & burnished in iridescent glitter.

For the background I stamped a random football pattern and ran it through an embossing folder to give it a bit of texture then inked the edges and layered it onto some matching card stock. I then wrapped some bright red ribbon around the centre before gluing to my A5 card blank. I then added the layered up club badge. I wanted to add a subtle FIVE OHHHHHH! To the front but then thought again lol. Why put it on the card when you can put it on the box! Out came the good old shrink plastic ~ it got a bit scary for a few seconds but ended up ok in the end!

So there you have it an Ipswich Town card and matching box!

Happy Birthday Tracey!

Altered Notebook

Morning all. I've been dabbling in and out of a few bits this week and not actually completed a lot. Although I have completed this little altered notbook. I recently signed up to a (not sure what you'd call it) 'Random Act of Kindness' or a 'Pay It Forward' initiative on Facebook, where by the first 5 people to comment on your status receive a little something handmade by you and in return they too have to pass it on.... so here's my first make and I'm not sure who to send it too yet....

The image is Shy Maddie a digi stamp from Polkadoodles I coloured her with my Graph'it Markers (Skin: 4120, 4115, 4150,4145, 4135, Hair: 4110, 1210, 1230, 1270, DRESS, 9100, 9101, 9102, 9103, Socks: 9100, 9101, blender, Shoes: 3270, 3280, 3290, Flowers: 4150, 4170, 4180, Headband: 3270, 3280, 3290 with a covering of wink of stella)

To make the book cover I cut a piece of Kraft card to size embossed with the 'Tied Together' embossing folder by Couture Creations and inked the edges with Weathered Wood distress ink and then added a few blue gemstones. On top I layered a cm smaller piece of background paper from Pretty Sweet CD Rom which I distressed and aged. I then added Maddie to the top with some foam tape . The flower is from Winston CD Rom. Just to finish off I added a few raffia knots to the spring bound edge.

I'd like to enter my altered notebook into the following challenges:

I really do appreciate you taking time out of your day to view my blog.

Thank you!
